CA District 52, situated in Northern California, encompasses the majority of the San Francisco Peninsula (excluding the city of San Francisco) and includes member leagues from San Mateo County and Northern Santa Clara County. San Mateo Little League American proudly holds membership in District 52.
After the conclusion of our regular season (February to early June), we assemble postseason All-Star teams to represent us at the District level and, hopefully, beyond, throughout the Summer. District 52 conducts a postseason tournament for our teams across five different age group levels (8-10, 9-11, 10-12, 13, and 14). The champions of the District Tournament in each age group progress to the California Section 3 tournament. Winners of the Section 3 tournament advance to the Northern California tournament. The journey concludes at NorCal for all age groups, except 10-12's, also known as Majors.
In the Majors category, the victor of the Northern California tournament moves on to the Western Regional in San Bernardino, CA. The Western Regional gathers champions from Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, Northern California, Southern California, and Utah, competing for the opportunity to advance to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This event is annually broadcast to a national television audience on ESPN and ABC.
