We’re excited to introduce San Mateo American (SMA), a summer baseball program powered by San Mateo Little League American (previously known as 'Eagles'). San Mateo American (SMA) aims to develop players in a fun, competitive, and community-focused environment. SMA will offer an affordable alternative to club baseball, giving players the chance to keep playing with their friends while sharpening their skills and participating in memorable baseball experiences like 12U Cooperstown.

Program Overview

• Summer teams for 8U, 9U, 10U, and 11U divisions. 
• Led by experienced SMLLA volunteer coaches
• Focus on skill development within our local community
• Commitment required from players and families

Season Details

• Season runs from late May through mid-July (older divisions may consider extended opportunities in the Fall)
• Participation in 3–5 local Bay Area tournaments
• Practice schedules will vary by team

Eligibility

• Open to SMLLA players ages 8–11 (Little League age)
• Players under 8 may be considered for 8U teams based on need
• Teams will be formed by age group to promote camaraderie and continuity

Tryouts

• To be scheduled sometime from late April through early May
• Team size will likely be limited and the coaching staff will determine the final teams based on roster availability
