Volunteer Requirements Overview

Please review the 2023 SMLLA Volunteer Status List (updated 2/23/2023). In order to receive a field badge, you must complete all of the necessary requirements. Please find your name and review what has been satisfied in prior years to and what still needs to be completed.
All requirements need to be completed prior to opening day on March 4th, 2023.
 
2023 VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
ALL Volunteers must submit the Adult Volunteer Registration form EACH AND EVERY year.
  • If you are not listed on the latest “Status List”, you need to complete the registration form using the link above.
  • If you are a Scorekeeper, Field Prep Person, Photographer, or Team Parent (and NOT also a Board Member OR On Field Manager OR Coach), this is all you need to do.
All Board Members and on-field volunteers (Managers and Coaches for all Divisions) will be required to participate in the following:
  • In Person - All NEW Volunteers need to attend one of our Safety Days on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 OR Saturday, February 4th, 2023 at Trinta Park.
    • 8am to 10am - Fingerprinting & Background Check (bring your drivers license)
    • 10am - First Aid Training
    • 11am - Coaches Clinic
  • Online - email completion information to safety@smlla.org.
    • Child Abuse Prevention Training (“Darkness to Light, Stewards of Children”, every 2 years, self-paced).  First Time Users / Repeat Users
    • Positive Coaching Alliance Training - Double-Goal Coach®: Coaching for Winning & Life Lessons (every 3 years), online Zoom meeting.
    • Concussion Training (“Heads Up”, 45 mins, every 3 years).
    • Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training (“Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation”, 20 mins, every 3 years).
SMLLA reserves the right to not issue or revoke a field badge for any reason.
